Morrigana Goddess of Thresholds
Morrigana - Morrighan - Morgan - Moŕ-Riśe - many names - one goddess!
The word "Moŕ" is used in Celtic Ancient language for "sea" and "moor." Here, it refers specifically to the dark aspect, both of the sea and other bodies of water, as well as the black night sky. The dark water is like the primordial water of life, which tells us of life and death.
"Morrigana, Morrighan, Princess of the Underworld, of life and death you have told me."
Life and death are transitions, are thresholds, and Morrigana carries the souls of the deceased across the thresholds into the Otherworld by means of water.
"Morrigana, Morrighan, Goddess of Thresholds, you bring the souls to the gate, on the other side they find rest," "Goddess of Thresholds, you bring the souls into the light, full of love so dense."
Morrigana carries the "essences," or "the souls, the dead," across the waves to the Lower Worlds. The act of drawing them in carries them across the dark sea, and the act of drawing them out can retrieve them.
Morrigana/Moŕ-Riśe crosses many thresholds to connect and transform. Thus, she flies through the air, possessing a palace in both the Lower and Upper Worlds!
"Morrigana, Morrighan, Queen of Heaven, you unite heaven and earth within," "Queen of the Sea, you took me to your castle with the fire within."
In the end, everything returns to the water. Healing lies in the sea. Life itself lies in the cycle of water. My song reminds us that we are part of this cycle. My song reminds us that darkness gives birth to light, that darkness and light are one.
