Bergutia Goddess of Security
Bergutia, in Geltic ancient language "Beŕkauhi," means "the bearer, the shelterer, the protector, the borne one," from which the German word "Berg" (mountain) derives. In the mountains, there are caves that conceal and protect us, warm in winter and cool in summer. A gentle fire is lit in the caves for warmth and cooking.
"With fire in the cave, with fire in the cave, I am safe with you!"
In the cave, all our basic needs are met, just as in the womb, where every human being can develop, is safe and secure, and where all their basic needs are fulfilled. Thus, Bergutia is also the bearer; she carries the child. She carries and protects newborns and children.
"Bergutia, you see what is hidden so clearly, you so gladly shelter me with you, you also hide me within you!"
Mountains, hills, and elevations are crossroads and portals to other worlds. Thus, Bergutia can guide us to these other realms, where she reveals our treasures and shows us how to protect them.
"Now I can retrieve my treasures, now I know how!"
Bergutia is a horned goddess who channels energy from the heavens to the earth.
"Bergutia, Bergutia, Horned One! With your horns, I feel your energy so intensely!"
She watches over the portal to the ancestors and their hidden treasures.
